The San Diego Humane Society: Making a Difference for Animals
Dedicated Volunteers Are the Heart of SDHS
The San Diego Humane Society (SDHS) relies heavily on its dedicated volunteers to provide care for over 25,000 abandoned animals each year, including cats, dogs, livestock, and exotic animals. These volunteers play a crucial role in the organization's mission of protecting and caring for animals in need.
Orientation and Training for Volunteers
Orientation sessions for potential volunteers are held on select Saturday mornings from 9 am. To sign up for an orientation or for more information, please email the Volunteer Department.
Animal Advocacy Day in Sacramento
SDHS leadership will be present in Sacramento on April 16, 2024, for Animal Advocacy Day. This event provides an opportunity for the organization to advocate for animal welfare policies and ensure that the voices of animals are heard at the legislative level.
